We’ve just launched the English version of “Kochi-ke no ○○”, a site packed with all kinds of info on Kochi Prefecture—food, sightseeing spots, events, culture, and more!
If you’re coming to Kochi for travel or business, make sure to check it out!

Kochi is on Shikoku Island in western Japan. About 84% of the land is covered in forests. To the north are the Shikoku Mountains, and to the south lies the Pacific Ocean. Rivers flowing from the mountains to the sea—like the Shimanto River and Niyodo River—are some of the clearest in Japan.
Kochi is a treasure trove of delicious food made with blessings from the mountains, rivers, and sea.
You’ll find super fresh sashimi and sushi, the local specialty beef Tosa Akaushi, countless types of ramen, even “yatai gyoza” (food-stall dumplings). Too many tasty options to choose from!
Kochi has plenty of scenic spots and seasonal highlights.
In August, the nationwide-famous Yosakoi Festival takes over the city. In 2025, 188 teams and about 18,000 dancers joined in, filling the streets with excitement!
This coming autumn, the mountains will be covered in breathtaking fall colors.
There’s still so much more we want to share—so please take a look at the site!
